No matter which visa type you should choose, please remember that your passport must stay valid for at least 6 months beyond the planned date of arrival in India.

Applicants can select an:

The first visa type offered is a multiple-entry permit that stays valid for one year from issuing and allows numerous visits to India.

e-Tourist visa holders can stay in the country for a total amount of 90 days (three months) during the visa validity period.

This type of entry permit can be used for:

  • making visits to your friends and family members residing in India

The e-Business visa is also a multiple-entry permit that stays effective for one year (12 months) from the date of issue. However, the total number of days spent in India during the visa validity is 180 (6 months). Travelers can spend the whole 6 months in the country either at one go or spread across numerous visits.

With the e-Medical visa, travelers can undergo any kind of medical treatment in India.

Emergency visa to India

There is one additional visa type for all travelers who need almost immediate visa approval for emergency situations.

This visa type is processed within a day or less; however, the processing time may take up to 3 days. Please note! This is both a visa that can be obtained online, as well as on arrival.

In what cases can you apply for an emergency visa to India?

  • death of a family member/loved one/someone close to you living in India
  • any law-related issues that require your presence in the country
